Stardate: 20081112/1. Location: Aruba. This is teamcaptain Serge Tjin-Wong-Joe of the gunclub Suriname's away team, team SVS. We are on a continuing mission to seek out new medals and new trophees in the region and beyond.
The trip starts. Up at 2.00 in the morning. Paramaribo-Trinidad-Curacao-Aruba. The usual short island hops, that really wear you down, especially when hauling along guns and ammo as well. We’re bringing along .40 rounds for Mark, Stef, Rochelle and Ro, while Rabien and I will carry Winchester 9mm from Aruba to Colombia. The .40 BUL’s can be finicky with ammo, and we decided not to take chances for our Standard Division shooters.
That's right! TEAM SVS is heading out to Cali Columbia to attend a level III IPSC Open tournament on November 15th 2008. After we got a taste of shooting abroad from our last journey to Aruba, we're all eager to go away again. We've all been prepped and ready for some time now to go out into the region to boldly shoot IPSC where no other Surinamese shooter has shot IPSC before. Six of our guys and gal will be along for the ride.
Ladies and gentlemen, it's the moment you've all been waiting for. It's not the Jack Rabbit Slim's twist contest and it sure ain't a free ammo give-away. But it's time for a show-me-yours-and-I'll-show-you-mine shooters-bonding event. Because...
THEY'VE ARRIVED!!
And who, pray tell, have arrived? you ask.. Surely it's not the sexy looking guys in that picture, because they never left. So who've arrived?
Here it is, boys and girls. The last part of the series. It took much longer than anticipated, because I had to be careful not to insult people too much this time I really had a blast writing this report and I hope you enjoyed it. If you feel offended by any part of it, just let me know and we can talk about it over a cup of tea. Maybe even solve some of your other issues while we're at it...Really... No promises though.
It is with great sadness in our hearts to hear of the passing of Mr. Rudi Kruisland. We of gunclub Suriname extend our sincere condolences to friends, family and colleagues of gunclubs Srefidensie and Sagittarius.
It's getting hard to remember the details after a while. Also, I've been preocupied by this particular lady.. Anyway, without further ado. Here's part three. Enjoy
Here it is. Sorry to keep you waiting, but it's been a busy week at work and I'm still sunburnt and badly in need of a good massage. Anyway, part two's finished so enjoy. Oh yes, any characters in my story that may or may not resemble real-life people is purely coincitentional .
We're back in good old Paramaribo! Seems like ages ago, these last 5 days went by so quickly. Too bad we didn't have the time to give a live day by day update of our progress. Now we're back, I'm going to try to remember our journey and tell it like it is from my perspective. The trip was short, sweet, sour and creamy But I'm getting ahead, where to start?
Team SVS is going to Aruba! In fact, we're leaving tomorrow first thing in the morning . I apologize for not having the time to update this site more often, but I'm having too much work to do lately. I haven't even posted the reports of our last 3 matches..heheh. Anyway, 14 of our shooters are going off to participate at the Aruba Open. For most of us, we will be shooting our first match abroad.
Last tuesday we finally had a match after a long period of silence. It tends to get addictive, cause we decided to make up for the lost time, so tomorrow, sunday July 6th 2008 at 12 o'clock, we'll be hosting another internal match: the SVS AZZKICKR 2008
There will be 3 challenging stages consisting of 27, 9 and 12 rounds. See you at the range. Shoot safe.
