Misc : Greetings from Holland
on 2009/5/11 1:54:42 (135 reads)

Got a mail yesterday from Ronnie Jamal. One of our shooters who left for Holland. Good to hear from old friends. Ronnie apparently has done really well in sporting skeet competition in Holland. He finished third in both Club and in the Dutch Nationals in Class B and will be attending the international Grand Prix Olympic Skeet from June 11th till 13th 2009. We wish you best of luck and looking forward to hearing from you. He writes:

Misc : HAPPY EASTER
on 2009/4/12 4:20:00 (127 reads)

Happy Easter, people! I know most of our esteemed members are probably out in the jungle hunting easter bunnies, for their eggs that is... Painted..., made of Chocolate even... Sorry for the apparent nonsensical comments, but I'm enjoying a free quality time with my computer that was long overdue AND I couldn't think of an easter song. I'll crawl back into my hole once I finish this report, so you can go about your business. Here's a tip for you guys for easter:

Misc : Team SVS gearing up
on 2008/9/4 15:39:39 (182 reads)

Ladies and gentlemen, it's the moment you've all been waiting for. It's not the Jack Rabbit Slim's twist contest and it sure ain't a free ammo give-away. But it's time for a show-me-yours-and-I'll-show-you-mine shooters-bonding event. Because...

THEY'VE ARRIVED!!

And who, pray tell, have arrived? you ask.. Surely it's not the sexy looking guys in that picture, because they never left. So who've arrived?

Misc : First Aid course
on 2008/6/27 1:55:09 (122 reads)

Due to popular demand on safety issues, yesterday we've had a very informative First Aid course at the range. The First Aid course is organised by the SVS and was taught by police inspector and First Aid instructor, mr. Held. Because we are a gunclub, mr. Held, gave special attention to First Aid treatment related to gunshot wounds and the like. Topics discussed included, but were not limited to, providing basic first aid in case of:
- shot wounds, knife wounds
- suffocation
- bruises and fractures
- burns
- heart attacks
- snake bites
- allergic reactions

Misc : Caribbean Practical Shooting Forum
on 2008/6/23 5:56:03 (122 reads)

As some of you may already know, we've started a project at the beginning of the year to create a forum for shooters in the Caribbean region. The idea started from the overwhelming response we received from shooters from throughout the Caribbean region and the need that was apparent for a forum. To give you an indication, we've had more than 150.000 hits on this website since the launch in little over a year ago. That's a great pat on the back, thank you all for your support.

Anyway, the need was there but we didn't want to start the forum on this website because it's contents are more intended for friends and members of gunclub Suriname. With the forum we wanted something to cater to all shooters in the Caribbean region.

Misc : Nick Alexakos in Suriname
on 2008/6/4 8:07:15 (143 reads)

From left to right: Mark Jie, Rabien Chotkan, Nick Alexakos, Stephen Tsang, Serge Tjin, Eric Kharagjitsing and Jack? where's Jack?

Last weekend some of us had the privilege to attend a course given by none other than mr.Nick Alexakos, the current IPSC president. What can I say, I recommend this training to ALL shooters. Not just people who want to be a Range Officer. The fact is, knowing the rules WILL make you a better IPSC shooter. But before I go on ranting about what anyone should do, let me get to the report.
